The Executive Committee of the Kent Co-op Party came together on 17 February with members from the Ashford and Canterbury branches to finalise the details of our upcoming AGM and to set out plans for campaigning and policy discussions for the year.
We are planning on a campaign on Fairtrade this spring and will be organising policy discussions across Kent.
The Kent Co-op Party marked the 100th Anniversay with a round up of the year and a report from the Cenenary Conference.

The Dover & Deal Co-op Party branch held a Centenary Reception to mark the Party’s 100th anniversary at Deal Town Hall.
An event to mark the Co-op Party’s centenary took place in Dartford this week.
The Dartford & District Centenary Gala Dinner at the Dartford Golf Club saw well over 50 members, guests and friends of the Co-operative Party come together. The Party’s General Secretary Claire McCarthy and Kent’s David Wise, a past National Secretary, gave speeches on the past , present and future of our party.
There was fine weather and a great turnout at the Kent Miners Festival, this year held near to the village of Betteshanger.

The Co-op Party held a centenary stall at the Dartford Festival went over the weekend of 15th- 16th July.
The Kent Co-op Party is holding its Annual General meeting on 11 March in Sittingbourne. All Kent members having been invited are are welcome to attend.
The Co-op Party celebrates its 100th anniversary this year. There will be many events across Kent in 2017 to mark this.

On Saturday 9 July the Kent Co-op Party had a stall at a Dover CLP conference to look at local government reorganisation.
The event, jointly organised by the Dover District Labour Group, was held at the Council Offices, Whitfield in Dover and was attended by councillors from across Kent.
