The Dover & Deal Co-op Party branch held a Centenary Reception to mark the Party’s 100th anniversary at Deal Town Hall.
An event to mark the Co-op Party’s centenary took place in Dartford this week.
The Dartford & District Centenary Gala Dinner at the Dartford Golf Club saw well over 50 members, guests and friends of the Co-operative Party come together. The Party’s General Secretary Claire McCarthy and Kent’s David Wise, a past National Secretary, gave speeches on the past , present and future of our party.
The Co-op Party’s centenary conference debated new ideas to change Britain. Policy sessions were held on Housing and Education.
The conference had contributions from Lab/ Co-op MPs, AMs and MSPs. The keynote speaker was the Leader of the Labour Party Jeremy Corbyn MP.

The Co-op Party held it’s Centenary conference in London on the weekend of 13-15 October 2017.
The opening session was held at the Central Hall in Westminster, the same venue that hosted the Party’s first conference in 1917.
A packed meeting agreed the annual report. In the awards section Cllr Laura Price won the Tim Pearce award and Kent members David and Doreen Wise were recognised for their service to the Party.
It’s been a busy year with the County Council elections and then the snap General.
